Tonight we went to riding club skinny xc training. Only 65cm but testy enough for both of us. As we arrived they were still building the course and Welly had a complete meltdown. He didn't understand how jumps and wings could move as people moved them to set up the cobottom. He did a silly panic thing and I had to throw my reins at him and hang on! I actually think he was on a sugar rush as he had managed to trap and wolf down most of a full likit today and he was very dizzy. But when he did settle he was fab. Far far too good for me I have to say. He jumped a water tray for the first time, no question just gave it lots of space. He is super sensitive though so our only bloop was doing a two stride skinny during the course at the finish and I over corrected him turning into it so we missed it. My fault entirely and not a run out. I'm getting my nerve back now I'm remembering to keep my legs forward but still have some work to do........Beak was fab on Toudle. He had a meaty stop and came off and the pony took some riding but he got there and jumped everything on the course really well. Need to adjust Welly's work life balance as he has wings at the moment.
