No experience. Have always found Toggi and Dublin boots comfy. Ariats are my fave too but so dear! Let us know how you get on.

I have loved my KTY boots too, although the lining around the heels disintegrated very quickly. I suspect that you do really get what you pay for and it is better to buy a better quality product in the first place - the old saying about buy cheap, buy twice... However, difficult to know if on is buying better quality or just a bigger name. Let us know what you decide and how they wear ...

I have had Mark Todd and although I initially thought they were ok after a year they died and I bought two pairs of KTY in the sale. One pair Ive never worn and the others are going strong- very comfy and waterproof. I also have some Dubarry for best and they are amazing, they just look better than anything else but cant comment on their other attributes as they only come out for posh stuff and I would never ride in them. I too find Robinsons stuff hit and miss, but I have bought some stuff really cheap from SportsDirect which seems to be the outlet for their end of line stuff. I dont mind dodgy quality if its dirt cheap and its for a specific purpose. When I looked at these I thought they were a bit over the top with all the laces and buckles but having fat legs they might actually suit me so who knows- let me know if you buy them and love em!

Yes my KTY's were fab, lasted just over two years and i did wear them all the time from dog walking and poo picking to riding. Through all the mud and they never once had a clean so i guess the simple answer is if i don't want to spend much i should just stick with them. But i really like the 'over the top' look of the Robinsons ones. Ho hum...
I will check sports direct, never knew they did horse stuff x

Ooh i like those but don't want to pay that much really as i abuse them. Saying that i do love ariats, so comfy and very hard wearing.
Throstlenests prices scare me unless it's the sale!

Brig I have big calves and they fit me well, the extreme boot is adjustable around the top too. The only problem I could see would be taller riders as they're just right for me and I'm only 5'2"

Finally bought some - but 2 pairs. Won a kingston pair on ebay for start bid from this seller as they looked identical to the knackered KTY ones i have had a couple of years now (they are the same). I'm hard on my boots, wear them daily for horses/dogs/riding etc and they never get cleaned so shows how tough the original pair were to do almost 3 years inc winters full of mud/water! I then couldn't resist a pair of the harry hall's too, which i also got for a start bid, so both pairs cost less than £80 in total. The harry hall's arrived today and seem very nice too. I'm going to use them for inhand/best for now, not sure how they will wear around the ankles (they might flop with time or if ridden in) but they look smart. Here's the link if anyone's after a bargain pair of boots as they are still auctioning loads of pairs plus some other types too. Bigger sizes are even cheaper. www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Riding-Boots/16241/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&LH_Auction=1&_ssn=cwell-uk
