I got back from an exhausting 10 days in London (business not pleasure) last night to find that Paco has a cough and a bit of a runny nose, wet and clear, no more than that. I needed to see if it was exacerbated by exercise so I took him along to the local TREC training day with my team today as I knew it wouldn't be strenuous. Poor boy, he did cough quite a bit. But it was very gentle, a lot of standing around discussing things. Paco was pinging around at the start but did eventually run out of puff a bit so I didn't push him. But we nailed a few things and reinforced a few others, such as the gate. At the end he felt Ok so I felt a surge of confidence and wanted to have a go at the jump out of the water. My coach teased me and said I could do it if I also did it the other way round, INTO the water. It was not appetising as it was into the sun and therefore glittery but I sat up, put my legs hard on - maximum throttle but the handbrake still a little on for maximum torque - and he sailed over and into the water , well, Ok a glorified puddle but nasty nonetheless Then I realised there were some wine barrels just after the exit so we did those too! Good boy! Now however he will have some rest to see if the cough clears up. If it is still there after the w/e it's the vet. I think it ois no more than a cold (virus) so ther is no real treatment but I have the name of some homeopathic didgeridoo so I will try that in the meantime.

That's a brilliant outing after ten days of no riding and a worry of a cough to boot. Love your just do it attitude.

That will have blown the cobwebs away. Hope his cough isn't serious. Harriet developed one when we changed onto new haylage. It was a bit drier than last lot. It was a persistent little sucker!

Yeah, I hope it doesn't hang around as we have a qualifier TREC in two weeks. Not really sure what has caused it, hay is the same as always but it has been very wet and cold here while I was away apparently. I too have a nasty cough and cold so we are a right pair. I have ordered some Balsamic Air for him ....

That's fab about the water jump. Hope his cough has cleared up, maybe the hay whilst you were away was a bit drier or dustier than normal. Even when it comes off my field i have sometimes noticed a difference in the quality (i think some of it got wet from the irrigators in next field at the far side whilst drying).
