Hope no one here is affected by the terrible flooding. We have, thankfully, escaped the worst of the weather to date, although very wet it's not been as heavy as the north west and parts of Yorkshire have experienced. Yesterday was glorious, you would have thought it was a spring day not the end of December, my Oh was out with us and only had a t-shirt on, he's a bit tougher than me but the sun was actually warm and Murph spent the day naked (and didn't roll in a boggy bit, which is always a bonus!) The first daffys are even out just outside my field gate, and the bluebells are also growing in our overgrown bits (we're not gardeners but the people before were and all the borders are, very busy with plants and stuff shall we say, although the ducks nicely wiped out the back ones for us).

It was lovely here yesterday but today has been a very different story, high winds and torrential rain. Thankfully the forecast for tomorrow looks better. Stay dry and safe everyone x

Gorgeous pix! You could almost take Pen to bed and cuddle her! I've been in the UK for the last week (Suffolk seaside) and we had a bit of everything and that did include quite a bit of sunshine. Back home here it is crazy warm: the marigolds in my veg patch are in flower as are several Japanese quince bushes. I cut the last of my lettuce the last day before we left and blow me, it's reshooting! Back to hacking though: got on board again this afternoon after fetching the herd back this morning and boy, it felt good to be back up there after a 10 day pause. Both Paco and Sam were full of beans after their holiday: Paco was power walking and Sam was left a little behind - until the canter though Sam, particularly, loves hacking, adores it even, but he was pranking the T today with pretend spooks at nothing at all. However, I'm still concerned about Paco's tripping: early in the hack we were in walk and he stumbled so badly that he went down on one knee and face planted. It may be that he just wasn't paying attention but it is happening often now. I have ordered some turmeric and we shall see .....
