Well at no point did I want to try riding without a bridle today! Pete was on one right from when I got on him. Marching round the school rather than walking. I had little or no control once we went up to trot which quickly became wall of death canter! Geez thought he was going to get me off! Don't know where he got the energy from. We did manage some really nice trot work eventually and he did settle. Of course I worry he was rushing through pain or worry but it really didn't feel like it. There were a couple of moments when I thought I was going to eat dirt! Thank goodness my friend Liz was with me to be the voice of calm on the ground and encourage me to stay with it. Think I might have just given up on my own! Didn't think he had that much fitness!

Sometimes they are just like that and you do have to stick with it. I recall riding Basil when I thought he was just fresh but with hindsight realise he was in pain. He would just feel angry underneath- there is such a distinct difference.

I think you know him well enough to know the difference between pain and high-jinks! Maybe he's feeling better and therefore more bouncy?! Sounds like fun anyway:-D

Monkey! I don't know about pete but i think my ducks think spring is in the air this last couple of days whilst it's been much milder. I thought silly season was over weeks ago but they were 'at it' again yesterday.
