I am already climbing the wall after a week off following the osteo's visit to the boys but now I face a further fortnight off as I have to have a small op (nothing serious) on my shoulder. It's bad planning on my part, I should have organised the two things to coincide. I feel certain I shan't last the fortnight (no driving either ) as I have some comps in mind and can't wait to get cracking. Not sure how I will fill the time: the house is full of builders, on and off, and there is a limit to how many times I can clean tack. What do you guys do when you are grounded?

Eat!! I am never able to ride as often as I would like. Pete and his issues. So I tend to meet friends for coffee and cake! Terrible but true! Not sure what I did while Pete was away for three months. Remember thinking this is what it must feel like if you sell your horse! I had way too much free time!

Get up later at weekends! Sleep, housework, tidy tack room, clean stables, scrub buckets, tidy grooming kit boxes, poo pick in fact all the stuff I don't have time for. Hope you're soon back on board x

Ditto above - i dont have to go up to murphy on days i dont ride as he lives out and owner just feeds him along with the rest. But when he was off work ive just been fitting other things in - meeting up with friends, tagging along as groom/supporter with friends who are going to shows, cleaning my riding boots, tidying up, going for walks and bike rides, visiting relations, going to the shops - i dont even know actually, just normal things! Go on facebook/the paddocks a lot lol!
I have a separate calendar which i write in all the different competitions thats on and then i can pull out my calendar at any given time to check whats on and ive got it all there in one place its v handy. So i like to be on facebook to keep up to date with things - i find a lot of things arent advertised in print but theyre on facebook!

Read horsey forums, read horsey websites, read horsey books (novels and factual), watch horsey videos and films...can you see the pattern? I empathise as I hate not being able to ride, and actually all the above make it worse as I want to put into practice everything that I read about or watch! Sorry for not being much use...I hope you're back on board soon xxx

Think I might have to do a lot of that Pboy as I won't be able to move my arm much for a little while which will limit how much I can turn out the tack room (which I keep pretty tidy anyway). I have Hildago waiting in the Humax box and the French TV channel Equidia will be on almost permanently!

Ah I love Hidalgo (even if it has no actual basis in fact whatsoever!)
