Having just left BD's thankful thread, i guess i should i should have added i'm very thankful to be able to live in a lovely part of the country, have 3 super ponies and all this amazing hacking right on my doorstep! I have started to take it for granted, so do need to remind myself sometimes that safe off road riding is something to be very thankful for indeed. It's considerably quieter here this week and pen and i had a lovely mooch this morning. It was a bit warm and we just plodded along, on the buckle, enjoying the views. Then i took Harry out for a solo walk, the plan was to ride him home bareback. But as i was going to get on a group of walkers appeared and scared him (he's a big wuss in company let alone on his own!) so i decided to carry on leading him and they decided to follow...grrr! This made him a bit uneasy and once past the gate getting on became an issue anyhow (sure sign of old age!) so i settled for leading him back.

Spot the cow? I'm sure they lurk on purpose, just waiting for ponies to go by... Attachments:

I was just thinking that green path was a great canter ... and then I spotted the cow. That would have been an emergency stop!

Haha, they often cause emergency stops (and occasional spins) in walk let alone faster!
That grass is deceiving, it's actually a gravel forestry road underneath, the logging churned it up a bit and grass has grown on top hence from a distance it gives a very good illusion of a lovely path!
