Cross country makes me panic. But I didn't want to waste the opportunity in the Ardeche and funnily enough, once on board, I just let go and enjoyed myself. I kept it all small, within my comfort zone, and Paco looked after me. The small green barrels were harder than they looked as you had to come sharply round a bend in deep shadow and then there they were The jump down doesn't look like much now but it felt like cantering off a cliff

You both look very confident. I've not done xc in years so I'm impressed by all of it!

Fantastic! Your always up to exciting horsey stuff in stunning surroundings, it makes me feel very envious. I know I'm very lucky with the countryside ( although the drought and heat has been enervating this summer) but I'm also very lucky to have a coach who understands that it can be very lonely having horses at home, not being part of a club. So she organises a lot of group stuff so we can get together and is very clever about managing everyone's different levels. I feel as though I have struck gold with this one

looks like fun, the barrel jump does sound tricky as its easy for them to skip a jump like that. Well done.
