In for a treat today as its clear here- just a bit hazy so should be good for the eclipse- will be doing the stables as it happens. cant believe it was 1999 when the last one occurred- I was at Summer School in the Open University- where were you?

I was at work and we all went outside to watch; it was amazing. I don't know if I will get out today but I am in a room with windows for a change!

We were at Ryedale country show, I was 7 and my Grandma insisted we stood in her shadow so we didn't get burnt. She's always been a wise old bird  . |

Was probably at work - have to say i was somewhat 'under awed' by it today, considering the hype, and can't even recall the last one!

I'll never forget the last one: my mate (also my boss) had a gin palace boat and invited us to join them crossing the Solent. It was an awe-inspiring experience, watching the total blackness race across the water like a curtain. The sea swell stopped and became oily and silent, the seagulls roosted on all the boat masts and everyone's hair stood on end, it was eerie. We slugged down champagne and tried to laugh off our unease, but we all felt it. Awesome.
Today it was hazy but we didn't get much of the eclipse, about 60%.

  we had 96% coverage, didn't get much darker, but boy did it get cold, it felt very much like a crisp December day, at the height of the eclipse about 1000 geese took off from the nearby nature reserve, and went wild as they flew over my house. I used a pinhole camera to view the eclipse and the pictures are of the sheet of paper behind. Last time I was working in Aberdeen and watched it from the office carpark Attachments:
