Some horses 'ride big'?
Possibly a rhetorical question but any thoughts or theories?
Harry rides much bigger than Pen, despite being about the same height...but he'd make two of her in bulk almost so maybe it's his width that does it.

I know what you mean- I used to ride a 17hh horse that felt like a pony and he was a chunky boy but short coupled so think it was that that made him seem small, plus he was cute and cheeky. Basil rides big but is quite long. A'good front' or 'good length of neck' is very much a horsemans expression which I think is to do with how big they ride. Which do you prefer Haff?

Yes murph has a giraffe neck and is also long so does feel a bit bigger than he is.
I generally like my feet near the ground these days Brig! So i guess i wouldn't want to be on a 16.2 who rode big anymore! I quite like riding Harry, he feels like your riding around on a bit spongy cream cake...if that description makes any sense!
