No, this stuff is like masking tape but you wrap it round the edges of the bit. Its hard wearing, and its the same colour as happy mouths.

They do the same job, but theyre not dressage legal and besides, have you ever tried getting them onto a 4 ring dutch gag!!! ... Not easy!!! ;D (*imagines me getting flung round the kitchen by a piece of rubber*)

use shammy leather just cut to size a,nd sew it on thats what they used before bit tape was invented

I did get bit guards on to a dutch gag, I had bruises for days afterwards from where my hand slipped off the rubber and whacked myself.... hopefully I'll never have to take them off.

Ouch! I had a big fight on with my just a loose ring snaffle, and ended up flinging the bit and me about trying to do it!

you can get those rubber rings with small slits in to make it easier to put them on - managed to get them easily over a big balding gag. Robinsons do latex tape to wrap round bins - is that what you're after?

Sorry no help to this thread but you need three people to put on bit guards and 2 piecces of baler twine. One holds bit two pull ring apart using the twine...voila!
