I am beside myself I have worn my brave pants out - well, they did get a lot of use! They have worn into holes, which I have been sewing up but now they really have given up the ghost. The trouble is I can't find any more. They are brown breeches with panels of brown check, quite discreet but identifiable to me as 'special' and therefore the ones that give me courage. I can't find anything on the web that is comparable but not too expensive. I will be useless without my brave pants ....

I was thinking you were talking about your confidence for a moment there! Im on the lookout for some nice breeches too, i keep seeing nice coloured/patterned jodhpurs but theyre going to bunch up with my long boots and it seems a waste to cut the bottoms off them! Breeches seem to be mostly in plain colours and i fancy a change from black and navy!

Like both of those - but they are jods and I always wear breeches cos I always wear half chaps. If I could find something like that in breeches .....

I think I have a very similar pair bought out of Decathlon many years ago, whilst they don't have the exact style anymore, they do have some very similar ones...

Its funny how the 'fashion' has moved on, out of interest Ive looked ata few suppliers and check breeches dont seem to figure much now- at one time it was impossible to get a plain pair now its tricky to get any without bling of some decription. Lucas and Wallioms were right- we are Little Britain.

Cor yes, they are expensive! I'm not wedded to check (especially not all over check as it is not forgiving!) - mine just had a panel down the side of each leg. Two-tone would be fine too, just something a little different to my normal, everday brown or grey breeches. They have to be a little different so I know they are 'special'. I do realise this thread makes me out to be utterly bonkers!

I just treated myself to a pair of these (apart from my new posh breeches from Olympia, all my others are 5-6 years old so I decided I need a refresh before they all split!!): www.equestrian.com/p/womens-breeches/mark-todd-plaid-breeches---ladies/890350/They just arrived and seem like decent quality and comfortable. I'm yet to ride in them but I'll report back when I do if you like! ETA: My attempt to keep my new purchases quiet from my hubby failed miserably this morning as I handed him my phone to look at something, and just at that moment the delivery reminder text came through - d'oh!! I told him it's a tail bandage and a pair of cheap breeches...I 'forgot' to mention that there was a second pair of breeches and some socks too!!

I popped up to the new Robinsons outlet in Leeds the other week and I'm sure they had checked breeches. My favourite breeches are the Horseware denim ones with the suede full seat. I've got 2 pairs and they are worn constantly and they are still in excellent condition; they are so comfy to wear.

Pboy they are lovely but a hefty price, no wonder you were 'hiding' them! Not sure I have the legs for all-over check though Fi, yes, mine were Decathlon too, I really like their breeches as they are cotton. The big Decat that I go to at Bouc-Bel-Air near Mbottomille hasn't got any interesting trews in at the moment but , ahem, I confess that I have found a two-tone pair lurking in a pile of stuff I bought in the sales some time ago. They will do for now, just different enough to be 'special'. Zara where do you get your Horseware ones?

I really like Horsewear stuff- but its a sale buy as quite pricey! Found a new favourite shop- its got a .com website but is also on face ache- search for The Nosebag Tack Shop as lots of clearance offers etc. Its the people who have got Frank now, so almost family! Rac when the teenager gets home have a look through as they had some breeches that match your bravepants description on special offer, Ive asked if they have any left. The link no longer works so they may have gone!

I, too, like cotton ones - hate those ones with stiff material, have mostly stuck to shires these past few years but saying that im not sure when was the last time i bought a new pair of jodphurs lol!
will look that website up brig.
Theres a horseware store near me that had a 'tent (warehouse) sale' before christmas and i got some amazing bargains although it was mostly clothes and bits and bobs, not really any jodhpurs or riding equipment at all unfortunately.

Yes, too small for me ditto the nosebag ones. But my new stand-in brave pants did the job yesterday. However, I'm still looking for 'the ones' !
