Try saying it with a joke French accent, it makes more sense!  It's a new one-day comp here where you do a dressage test, then a XC course. I expect it is called something different your way. Anyway, I'm doing one on Sunday. Just learned my dressage test and it is fairly straight forward although my ancient pickled brain is always capable of screwing things up. The XC is on the course where we often do our training so the fact that I know it helps reduce the stress  I have decided this year is a 'yes' year which I why I've signed up for something so far out of my comfort zone. I'm going to try to treat this as a day out, pure and simple. It'll be a laugh too - I shall be a minimum of 45 years older than everyone else in my (big) class!  |

Ooh exciting! Yes it will be a bit of craic no matter what and as you say you've already jumped over the jumps so you know what they're like, will be no bother to you!  good resolution, just going for it, you're well able for it looking forward to hearing how it goes! |

Hmm. One of the girls in my class is a TREC champion and has a zillion diplomas. And there I will be, minus a proper dressage jacket - I don't have one. My OH has offfered me one of his old suit jackets. I'm gonna look terrific |

Who cares, trec is completely different, she maybe wont do as well as you think!  Do you have any kind of riding jacket? Even if its not black or navy, tweed will look great as well. Is there a local facebook group where you could get a second hand jacket? Or someone at the club that you could borrow a jacket? Or someone you know that is going that you could share jackets? Or even a plain black or navy jumper with your shirt and tie would do fine. |

I don't have enough time to source a proper jacket so it'll be the OH's suit or a black fleece. I don't care! The champ's horse is a youngster, which is why she's in my lowly class. (I like the FFE system where you can check out the competition ) but I'm only doing it for a laugh so I'm not getting competitive. Honest. |

Just as we were packing - it's been cancelled because it's so cold at the moment that the arenas are still frozen even at midday. I'm actually disappointed.  |
