Well. Im still in a bit of a shock as last night was the final of the local riding school dressage league that I have been taking H to.
At Halloween I started riding H and have been working on his flatwork - he has never had any proper flatwork training since i have known him so he was very crooked with a drifting problem so we started off at Intro. Since then I have been taking him every week to the dressage and also started a weekly group lesson in mid november which I think has done wonders. Ive found him to be very willing and a super quick learner with a great natural ability - he has lovely flowing balanced paces and super transitions, its just a case of getting in straightened up and more supple really! Nearly every week he has improved and considering i was only really riding him 2 times a week and owner jumping him on a friday night, he has made remarkable progress.
Anyhow, we started off getting placed 5th in our first intro test to getting a 1st in last nights intro with 76.4% which felt pretty much foot perfect! and also coming 1st in the prelim 4 with 73.1% (our second prelim test, didnt expect this at all as the canter is still a work in progress!) We also won the Intro league!
Unfortunately mum wasnt able to make it as visitors landed in so didnt get anything of the intro test but managed to nab a wee girl to video the prelim, so hopefully it'll load!
So proud of H he is such a great wee horse! Would like to see what we would get elsewhere as im aware that just because we did well at the local riding school doesnt mean we will do well elsewhere but i think looking back on the league its been a great training aid for H no matter what and its been really enjoyable doing it on him.
