Bathing my pony today with my friend when she looked down the foreleg on her side and said 'is this blood?' so i immediately went to her side of her to look. Sure enough, there was dried blood on her pastern. Ive left my first aid kit at home unfortunately, so test a friend to borrow some cotton wool and i hibiscrubed it til the cows came home. Now there is a cut about 2 inches long, by about 1mm wide. Owner of the horse stabled next to Gem reckons she must have done it when rearing up in the stable this morning. Horses eh Her other cut isnt healed up fully yet and shes got another!!!

When i first got her she cut the side of her cannon, then catches just above her coronet band, then few months down the line she got herself kicked by my gelding (weekend after we got him). Then she comes here and slips on the concrete and gives herself a rather nice gash which was pouring with blood (quite literally!) and its not fully healed yet, did get pic but had to send phone back so never got the chance to get it off there, and on the same leg she now has this cut.
Rearing? God knows, shes fine in the evening and during the day its just in the morning, shes been rearing and leaping about for the past few mornings shes been here!

Eugh, i reckon youre right, walking catastrophes definately! I reckon Gem has a bad back too, although nothing too major. A car came thru the hedge? Sounds like the car driver needs sending the bill for Savvys back!

(Excuse my face!) After being lame with what we think was her tendon Btw, wasnt going to ride her, so didnt take her tack up, but i was bored so jumped on her for 5 mins cos she was sound! And this last pic, is after she fractured her pedal bone... Last day i saw her, she was laid down, got up to see me (ok i had her feed) and she could barely walk ... was sound after id made her walk round the field for 5mins tho!

A car came thru the hedge? Sounds like the car driver needs sending the bill for Savvys back! would have got his plate if it hadn't fallen off was in the next field but 100m more and he would have been in ours just glad there was nothing in the other field it's normally full of cows and calves
