Happy bunny today as went on quite a longish solo hack with penny poo bum and even had a little canter She didn't put a hoof out of place, despite previously on our solo outings having just stuck to the common and routes she is very familiar with. I think she quite enjoyed the slight change of scenery infact. Pic is actually from yesterday but thought i may as well pop it here.

I love her Sol, she's just what I wanted really (well just a bit greener maybe), she's so easy to be around too, all ladylike and demure (unlike the other two rouges!).

Enjoy her?! I'd like to show her (at least once...i'll probably loose interest after that) next year, even if only in hand, just so we have done it. In reality she much prefers hacking to schooling so i think she will be much happier doing that or maybe some pleasure rides or trec if i can convince my OH i need a lorry! He likes the idea of taking her for days out (he's quite smitten) and riding his bike, he's already suggested Edale as there are lots of bridleways.
I'm also determined to try going aside, stumbling block being a saddle. I'd like a foreign one to see if she takes to it before shelling out to have one made for her but width is an issue in general. The vintages (which are far from cheap unless knackered) were made for TB types not barrels! Even the foreign ones are not exactly cheap when you compare to their counterpart astrides but hundreds rather than thousands but of course quality is always an issue and they don't come on the market much either, on the plus side they are generally a bit wider fitting.
