Anyone any feedback?
Sam has just ripped his Weatherbeeta (it was five years old so I'm not complaining, I'll see if I can repair it) and is now in his new red WB Genero and looking like Father Christmas! But I'd like to have a spare in hand just in case but don't want to pay top dollar just because it's that time of year (I usually buy in the off season sales).
The Derby House rugs look good value but are they up to it? I need a 1200 denier outer, medium fill (200g), 6ft in size.
Recommendations for reasonable cheapies please?

I bought a DH 200g combo turnout and it is c**p! Your horse needs a puny neck and the finish isn't great! I got it in the sale for £35 but it should have been nearer £100. At 35 it isn't bad value but I would have been seriously peed off if I'd paid full price! Some of the "Gallop" range are OK and cheap!

I do think with rugs you get what you pay for and the 'big' brands are generally better. You might get away with a saxon on him. They are made by weatherbeeta as a budget brand but quality is good...they skimp on material and the fit is a bit mini skirtish. They don't go around harry's sides but Murph wears one sometimes and it just covers his belly...but not under if you like your rugs deep (which i do but i bought it for harry as it was cheap hence murph having adopted it when it didn't fit). I'll try to find a pic of the fit for you.
I've never had one but seen lots of complaints about derby house rugs on facebook, they are often obn offer, but the posts seem full of unhappy buyers!

I find the shires tempest range very good. They are very generous in size and good value for money. Most of Rosie's rugs now are these. Although I have got a rhino stable rug I got in a sale and I do love this rug.

I agree you get what you pay for. horseware do the amigo brand as a cheaper version which I quite like, the Amigo Mio, is very short and like the Saxon a bit like a mini skirt. The Amigo Hero is slightly more e pensive but has a lot more material to it, and isn't as expensive as the Rhino or Rambo rugs

I like my mio for Harriet, nice and light to put on and off but not sure it would stand up to a Sam bashing- seen that boy play! Some of the Shired ones may suit him, they try to compete with the named brands so tend to be good value, Ive still got a HW one that Basil uses and its around nine years old.

Derby house rugs are awfull I am afraid, the fit, material and buckles etc really aren't good. Needed cheap and chearfull rugs for Dude as he demolished 2 shires rugs in a month last winter (and I mean demolished) and ended up getting what you already have, a weatherbeta Genaro (a couple in fact). They have lasted what was left of last winter and are still going strong now so I can't complain and at Charlies Store near me they are £65 pounds for the full neck which is reasonable.

I got a shires half neck HW rug from mole valley farmers last year for about £35 it the only rug I haven't needed to clean and its totally water proof, very boring brown/bronze colour but it doesn't show the mud so all good
