It's only Italians in this house - the OH has a Ducati and a vintage Laverda Jota. They don't move a lot though

Always wanted a Guzzi ... but I am a rubbish rider. Bit of a miracle I ever got my licence, I seem to crash a lot

I had a moped when I was eighteen. I crashed three times so decided two wheels weren't for me! Seriously thinking about my hols now also!

I went to galway/Connemara for hols last summer but I wouldn't be fussed on going back. The only thing I liked was the accommodation which I would highly recommend, the scenery was just bleak and the aran islands were a waste of time and money, just so touristy and not authentic. Like they wanted to get every penny out of you but sure you wouldn't blame them for wanting to make money! Didn't go riding there.
I went to annaharvey farm equestrian centre and b&b in co Offaly last summer too and it was a great holiday the b&b was simple and basic but homely and the food was unbelievable. they have an indoor outdoor and eventing ireland xc course. Variety of horses but I rode mostly cobs. Focused mainly on xc but you can pick what you want to do every day - xc, hack round the fields, or a lesson in the arena. Scenery much nicer! Green and Irish! Lol I found though that even though I learnt to ride in the same country I was getting instruction at annaharvey that was a different way of doing things. We jumped around 80/90cm xc jumops on the cobs!
Have also been to castle Leslie estate equestrian centre in co monaghan and also stayed in hotel. Very fancy and beautiful stable yard but would have perhaps better quality of horses and better tuition in dressage and jumping possibly although I've never had a lesson there just been to a hack and some bhs training days. They've got over 100 xc jumps through the estate and a big fancy indoor but no proper outdoor. You can do pretty much the same things as annaharvey-xc ride hack or lesson. Hotel amazing and food delicious! But much more expensive! Castle Leslie have a spa too and other activities you can do on the estate.

That's interesting about the scenery Flea - ant to do a week-long trail ride. Dingle is also another possibility. Any thoughts?

Have never been to Kerry so don't know much about it at all unfortunately. Connemara was impressive at first glance very wild and rugged but if you were trail riding round it the landscape would soon get depressing! That's my opinion of it anyway, but then I much prefer green fields and forests!
