Penny's worm count has come back clear but would you still worm them all if it were you?
It's almost tape worm time so was wondering if i'd get away with waiting till then as i try to minimise use of chemical wormers as much as poss.

If it were me I'd just do them all with the tape worm treatment.

Me too! Im a bit like that with the chemicals- I do a big worm in spring and Autumn to include everything- then poo pick like crazy. Seems to work well as when I did the egg count method I still seemed to find hatched worms in the warm moist poo dropping that were a couple of days old- since doing a spring/autumn programme Ive found nothing.

Thanks guys, thats what i'll do then! I poo pick daily, it's easier than having a mass go every few days plus it seems to work in terms of keeping the counts clear for me.
Westgate now offer a saliva tapeworm test so i may well give it a try at some point, but i think i'll go with a chemical this time with her being new.

Yes, I'd certainly worm them all since she's new to you. My chickens are unhappily confined to quarters at the moment as I've had trouble with the neighbour's dog and we have suddenly had a surge in bot flies. Reading up on them I realise what horrible devils they are so I've been furiously shaving them off, applying vinegar (apparently it kills the eggs) and then oil to inhibit the cementing of new eggs. The boys smell like salad! What do you do?
