Was away at a show on Saturday past. Started off with a 6am start, up the road to get M ready, no mother with me so all plaiting had to be done by yours truly lol! V pleased I managed to do a lovely neat tail plait, that having been mums domain while I do the mane!
Got a phone call from dad about half 8 to say the power steering had gone in the jeep halfway up the road! He had to call into a man he knew and they were shifting cattle or something but he got it over the pit anyway to take a look - apparently the man had to make a part for it then and there!!
Anyway, after that panic was over we got pony loaded on and away we went. Had woke up feeling like crap but felt better once I got going.
Got there and went to make entries - was blowing a gale as venue was right beside the beach - and realised there wasn't any portaloos - I think the people had been let down by the sounds of it, so that wasn't too good! However they managed to get some by lunchtime thank goodness!
Went to warm up for the working hunter and got a really bad cramp and had to get off as I felt a bit sick too, thought maybe standing up would make it a bit better so was sitting crouched on the ground - mum was away checking the other class I was thinking of doing and dad was listening to the motorbike race on the radio in the jeep - so some nice woman came over and asked if I was ok and then the flippin paramedics got involved and I had to go into their ambulance! tbh I was glad to get lying down and get some paracetamol and a cup of tea, no way I felt like I could do anything. the paramedics said they were scared of horses and mum said to me that I had better hurry up cos my class was going to be over lol and they were giving off saying I wont be going anywhere till I was ok - haha! I knew what mum was saying but it was funny. anyway, made a full recovery and jumped back on murphy who was munching away at the grass happy as larry.
Went over to the gate of the ring to see what was happening and the steward said did I want to go next, so had to quickly memorise the course by watching the person that was going in front of me! In I went and murphy was feeling energetic and jumped a lovely clear! nearly went the wrong way at one point and trotted on a tight turn instead of keeping the canter but was great! Got 4th in a big class! Course was just natural jumps so I think murphy liked it cos it was a bit like xc!
Then went over and did the ridden veteran pony class and got first! He went really well, we are getting the outline much more consistently these days in walk and trot so must be improving all the time! So that meant we were eligible for the pony championship and I got to compete in that at the end of the classes - they only drew champion and reserve champion so the rest of us just went out. It was v exciting to get to do that, never been in a championship!
Wasn't back till 6 or 7 pm at the yard - murphys always bouncing when we get home, youd think hed be tired! We were all knackered pics to follow in pic gallery!
Forgot to add a pic of my first proper tail plait!! v proud of it!
