Only went and got 5th place in the Newcomer Ridden Class at a local agricultural show today! Soo pleased with Murphy he was just amazing, despite the class being in the horse section, there was no horse height restriction so i just went for it! The top four horses looked like show horses so to get 5th against them was just fantastic. Im not really sure how they were newcomers to the sport as they werent young horses according to the catalogue and the riders seemed to know what they were doing but perhaps they just do it for fun like me!
I also had planned to do the showjumping in the morning but the pony ring took forever they were only on the third class at midday! Was getting rather stressed by this point about it clashing with the show class, so i pulled out of the 70cms. I did the 60cms as the ground was a bit slopey and holey and got clear until i missed out the last jump - doh! Oh well!
Fantastic day, there was a huge crowd from early morning and a great atmosphere, only regret is not getting to spend more time going around the trade stands! Next time i will cut the showjumping and just go shopping!
