Poor Pete has done rather too well at the new yard, eating haylage and having a lameness/lami scare diet is a must. He is really good about it and has changed to soaked hay no problem. He has a handful of fast fibre with his minerals once a day and he has a carrot for breakfast. I feel so mean restricting him. Using his trickle net at night time now too so he has food for longer. He is getting exercised but is still pretty big!

I know its hard! Murphy is basically on a bare paddock its grazed down that much (although getting hard feed) and hes just tip top but you wouldnt want him any fatter. Ms owner and me were just saying today how they manage to stay so rounded on so little! But i think if i was managing him myself i would probably be a bit softer and want to give him more to eat lol! I just worry about him being hungry lol!

Rosie is the same. She is basically a bare field too. Shes only getting minimum feed like pete. Her ridden work could be a bit more regular. She has a bit of hay when she comes in but thats it. And is 451kg on weigh tape. I just cant seem to get her any lower than that. Shes been that weight for quite some time fluctuating higher at times but never lower hmph.
Her 'boyfriend' is leaving this morning so she will be on her own. so was already going to split field so had grass in winter but will have to restrict more as not sure when she will have a friend. Im glad the owners are going but will miss there horse as its only the 2nd horse i have known in the 5 years of having rose she has ever let near her.
