I had a really good lesson last night where things just seemed to go right (very unusual for me). Ryan was a dream and we finished by jumping a couple of small cross poles. It was so much fun that I've booked a jumping lesson tomorrow ;D I'll let you know how it goes.

Sounds good. A good lesson really lifts you up. Good luck in the lesson tomorrow. Its nearly a year since I had a jumping lesson... don't really want one for the moment either!! Have to get the confidence back! Used to really prefer jumping lessons to flatwork (which can be so hard) but am avoiding them at moment. Glad your horse is going well

Thanks Duckles. Unfortunately he's not mine  . I'm not lucky enough to have my own yet but I suppose it does mean that I have Ellie (7yr old mare) and Ryan (4 yr old dapple grey gelding) for lessons and Lavanna (5 yr old coloured mare) for hacking. |

Sounds like your doing ok!!! Its fantastic having your own horse and I'm sure you will find that out one day but until then it is really good to ride loads of different horses as you are. I used to love that. THey are all so different so it teaches you loads and your gang sound good.

Well done kitkat sounds like you had a good lesson, my daughter is 13 and deos a lot of jumping, has been at it since she 8, she has a lesson every saturday and loves them ;D

Thanks guys. We had great fun today. Ryan's still a baby so we had a few straightness issues and a few jumps from standstill as he thought it would be a good idea to go round, but I wouldn't let him  Duckles - I'm still trying to persuade my OH that a horse is not a luxury but a necessity (and no, of course I would spend just as much time with him and wouldn't be at the stables all the time.... ;D) Minnie - your daughter sounds really good, ah well, maybe one day.. |

Can i make one small suggestion though.......don't make promises to your OH like that ha ha ;D ;D
