can anyone recommend a good mane detangler? Emir has such fine hair that his mane is always knotted up. i have used Canter one but can anyone recommed one that will keep it tangle free or is that impossible?! thanks xx

even works on daintys scraggy tail

Naff D-Tangler. Best stuff ive used, ever. You should run your fingers thru Gems tail, even after a night in the field ... still so nice and knott free.

great. thanks! his tail doesnt seem to get as knotted as his mane. he looks awful. it took me and OH half an hour to get it untangled. might have been quicker but Emir has got the attention span of a gnat and gets fidgety! i will take a piccie of it in a few days time and it will be tangled again.

My firend uses baby oil, hardly needs reapplying and leaves tail and mane lovely and shiny! And knot free!
Oh and its a cheapie!

i thought about baby oil but i didnt know whether to use it on his mane. i might try that and the Dove to see how he gets on. thanks xx

The new Lynn Russell range is good. And the mane and tail detangler smells lovely - and it works!

i put this on the arabian lines forum and someone suggesed Cowboy magic detangler but it is pricey. also, someone suggested a human shampoo called Farouk silk therapy and uses it on her own hair. i looked on Ebay and it costs 16.99!!!

be careful with baby oil- too much can make thew mane look wet or greasy, but a little bit will soften cobottom hair canter mane conditioner, use that! more expensive than some stuff but lasts longer, need less and stays o0n forever, even after all last week's heavy rain i can feel it on sox's neck witout re-applying it! magic  |

i got some dove leave in conditioner and some cheapo tesco shampoo and conditioner to try. see if that does the trick and if not i am going to try the canter spray

i bought myself some umberto giannii (sp) overnight moisture balm and it was too greasy for me so i thought i would try it on Emir. it seems to do the trick, stops him getting all knotted up like dreadlocks.

I have the IV horse de tangler and the NAF one and they are ok but dont seem to last for any great time.
off to give Max a bath and then douse him in FFF- Finefilly Fantastic Flyspray! boy does my house pong after making it last night!
