I'm off to Spain for 10 days on hols soon and am getting grass livery for my 3 boys. The nature of the grass livery will consist of water, grass (obviously, lol) and daily checking them so pretty minimal. Dilemma is do I rug them or leave them without? Not sure if field has a field shelter. Any other tips when heading away?

It depends on what they are used to, although if you have a few days till you go away i would get them acclimatised to being without rugs all the time. The people probably wont take the rugs off to check underneath them - rugs could rub being on all the time and if its warm weather they will be sweating inside it and may cause skin irritation/infections. I think this time of year they will be grand with nothing no matter what the weather. I always think that its easier for them to warm themselves up by moving about but they are stuck if they get too warm with a rug.
M's owner and family heading off for a week tomorrow so im left in charge of the horses, eek! Things she mentioned were numbers of the vet and farrier, what normal habits are, if any, anything to watch out for in particular (e.g. one of her horses is v prone to going lame) and phone numbers of her and her family.
PS sent you an email

Would your checkers do a fly spray? Didn't do mine the other day and the cleggs sent them crazy, that's when injuries happen. But otherwise ditto flea

As above. Mine are all out with no rugs (except Brave who has to wear a fly rug) I have one of those half waterproof ones for him

Thanks - ok leaving them out without rugs seems the way to go. Brig there might be a girl around the yard who I could ask to apply fly spray - worth asking.
