So Sunday saw our second outing in the snaffle to do an Intro A and Intro B.
Very nice venue, relaxed and quiet. Warm up area was a bit odd being literally next to the dressage arena (both within the same menage)but as I was first to go it was quiet so I was able to let Ed have a good look around.
Intro A first - only 2 of us in it! I went first and was really pleased with how Eddie went. Transitions which have never been our strong point are getting so much better. I asked her for more roundness this time and she didn't let me down - she seems to know when she's in a show environment and really steps up a notch. Anyway, watched the lady after me and was fairly convinced we were beaten - but didn't care as just interested in staying calm and focused.
Next did Intro B and had a complete moment of idiocy - came down the centre line and immediately started my half circle at C - should have been at A. Judges horn beeped! They were lovely about it, helped me get by bearings and we got back on track. Rest of the test passed in a bit of a daze and I was concentrating too much on not making another error and not really on what we were doing. Still felt resonably happy at the end but was kicking myself for my mistake.
Untacked and let Eddie graze in the shade - was so hot while we waited for our results. I nearly fell on the floor when I was presented with 2 first places and saw scores of 64.14% and 67.17% despite our error. We even got an 8 for our halt in the second class.
So on returning to yard was told I am joining Team Quest for an outing in two weeks - first venue Moulton College. Quite excited but very nervous - this will be a big step up from the sympathetic judging we have had recently. And its not just me, its a whole team this can affect. Eek.
We're off to a Trec this weekend to have some fun.
