Has your fridge ever hummed?

The fridge had a minor breakdown last week, now working normally again but everytime we close the door it seems to hum, always the same "tune". Frightened the living daylights when I went to get a drink at 3am!

The kettle also keep switching itself on and off.

Please tell me we're not the only ones with strange appliances?

Our fridge makes noises like a cow being milked sometimes...apparently it's the gas inside it moving around...don't ask. Haven't got a poltergeist kettle though . Feeling a bit left out actually!

Yes, not my current one but did have a fridge that hummed.
We have a cctv system installed and the main unit is in the loft, it makes a soft whirring and cooing sound that is hardly discernible, except at 3am in the morning when the world is quiet and my OH is working nights. He forgot to mention it was in the loft and the first few times I thought it was a wood pigeon on the chimney, then I worked out the sound wasnt coming from the chimney. Bricked it!

and I sometimes forget to tell guests too...

My house is full of noises! If I can't sleep I can hear everything 'talking' to me (yes, mad old bat, I know). And there is a road nearby that has just been resurfaces that 'sings' as you drive along .....
