I am fortunate in that we are schooling again and trying to improve contact and straightness. Old problems however are re-emerging! Pete gnashes on whatever bit he wears. Especially pulls and gurns when asked to halt. Really trying to us bodyweight more to slow him down but all advice gratefully received.

This is a really hard one to sort once established, you can start to teach him to halt to the seat more if he is expecting it. Make a box with cones or markers in the school and halt everytime you enter the box,at first you will have to give your usual aids but as he comes to expect the halt you can lighten your usual aids and introduce more seat influence. Eventually with patience he will recognise the seat more but you will have to be consistent and work at it.
