Im a member of a kissing spine group and using tumeric as a natural pain reliever comes up often. Ive done some research and it seems it is becoming a viable additive for joint pain relief and a general immuno booster. Dosage is a tablesthingy to half a cupful and best fed alongside linseed or other plant based oil. Horses seem to tolerate it as an additive. Although very happy with Basil at moment he may need his hocks injecting in the next few months so Im going to start using it in low dosage to see if it makes any difference. Im not sure I will be able to tell as he had so many issues related to his back that any improvement may be solely down to that butat least I will be able to say if he finds it palatable.
I must say if it turns out to be a good 'natural' remedy there will be a lot of upset vets!

That's fascinating! Does it work for humans too? Lots of people could be eating lots of curry!
