I had planned on heading off to Vietnam for a month but I then bought a Rupert so that plans on the back burner for a few months.
Hopefully though I'm heading over to Cumbria Heavy Horses later in the year with a couple of friends. Really looking forward to it!

Arizona sounds fab!I'd love to go to Vietnam although I think the animal welfare issues would be too much for me to bear. Having said that animal welfare issues are a problem where ever you go. I'm off to Spain in November for my half century Birthday, so if anyone wants to join me and Sol let me know!

Sol, Im determined to go on a western style hol for my 50, (two years time) so you should do something on your bucket list. Im on my hols at the moment, doing a cruise around the canaries. Its ok but been on better! Doing three days at a polo club in June and no doubt will be visiting pontins or butlins with the boy at some point. Its cost us a packet this year as we will be fined by the school for taking the boy out £60 per parent per week so thats £240 then for the horses and pets care its another £350, a whopping £600 before weve even booked anything! Need to drastically alter my holiday strategy next year!

Arizona IS amazing! The OH and I did a Winnebego trip around the Grand Canyon when the teenager was then only nine months old. Amazing place! I took a day off and hired a horse and a guide and spent the day galloping around Monument Valley. Wow. The Canyon de Chelly is also mind blowing on horseback.
I HATED Las Vegas with every fibre of my being though.
Brig - couldn't we TPers organise a pet/house sitting club somehow?

I think that would be a splendid idea but tricky to sort?

Ooh, can I join the line of 'jealous-about-Arizone TPers'? I'd love to do a western holiday, I met the owners of the Bonanza Creek Ranch (Montana) at Los Alamos a couple of years ago and they were absolutely lovely, it would be great to visit them one year. And Rac, I'm with you on Las Vegas, it's a hideous place. I'm off to Spain for Easter to see the horses, we're taking the step-children too. Then my cousin is getting married in Italy in May so we're going there for a long weekend - we managed to get first-class tickets with our airmiles so I am very excited about the flight! That's it for now, we'll probably head to Spain in the summer too, plus some friends are desperate for my hubby to show them around Greenland (he spent his summer holidays) so we'd love to fit in a few days doing that...no idea how we'll find the time though. Ooh, almost forgot - off to Cambodia (Siem Reap, to see Angkor Wat) in mid-February too, just a long weekend. A great thing about Hong Kong is its proximity to some amazing places! Zara - I've heard mixed things about Vietnam. Some of my friends love it and others really haven't. I've only been to the airport (!) but it strikes me that there is a lot of 'poverty tourism' going on, which I hate. However a few of my friends have been to Myanmar recently and loved it.

The bonanza creek ranch at Montana sounds intriguing. Shall we all get saving?

Ooh, yes please!! I think I'm close to convincing OH that we can do a riding holiday to Montana even though we have four horses in Spain... Their 'Advanced' week sounds like a load of fun. As does the hot spring and BYO booze... www.bonanzacreekcountry.com/It was June and Kim who I met at LA, along with one of their regular guests and they were just lovely. It would be great to see them again!
