Brave pants washed and ready: I've signed up for another SJ comp. Well, it's the baby class at 60cm but the last time I tried one (last December) my nerves got the better of me and I went to jelly. This time I have decided to calm down, pull on those pants and 'master' Paco. He will try it on because he always does but at the first bit of silliness I shall be very firm. Wish I could get him a pair of brave pants So far the only other contestant in the class is a child on a pony of 129cm!!! (But that will change before Monday night when the class closes.)

Great to hear! I've only managed SJ classes of 60cm with Classy too, we always get beaten by kids on ponies but we enjoy ourselves

Yes, I'm determined to have fun this time. I know I'll be soundly beaten by a kid on a pony (there are six of them in the class now ) but I'm determined to just relax and enjoy it and not let P get away with anything. The first spook at a pot of flowers and I will be severe!!!! The only downside is the weather forecast: it's awful with heavy rain and storms. For this reason I have decided I will not take the 'direct' hairpin route over the mountains but go all the way around the massif on the nice wide straight flat roads.

That sounds like a sensible plan. Might take longer but completely worth it.

In fact the forecast has now changed and it will be a nice day: cold but clear. But I'm still not going over the mountains, no way do I want to negotiate the hairpins with a hard frost on them! And happily, my baby class is the opener, so I can get it all out of the way early and enjoy the rest of the day!
