Are either utterly stupid or enjoy creating mischief. 
Thinking that Paco might be getting too used to having R with him, I took him out alone for a quick trotting yesterday. He was a bit spooky but I half understood: there were a lot of hunters out even though it wasn't an 'allowed' day, so effectively they were poaching. Obviusly with hunters come dogs, although FGS Paco should be used to hunting bells in the bushes by now ....
Anyway, we trotting up this tarmac lane at quite a lick and he was working well, back right into it when ... EMERGENCY STOP! He stopped so quickly and completely that his metal shoes skidded UP the hill. There in an olive tree next to the lane was a bloke using some sort of air-fed machine.
So I calmed Paco down and exchanged a merry word with the man who asked if I was OK. But then the stupid git fired up the machine again just as we were next to him!
Of course Paco shot off at a canter, so there was I cantering up the tarmac towards the council digger digging out the ditch .....
I managed to calm P down and he banana'd around it so we headed for home, nervous wrecks.
Would it have been beyond the man's intelligence to have waited until we were past before he fired up the machine again, once he'd seen Paco's terror? Obviously yes!
