I'm going to do an event training day on Tuesday. As you know this is way outside my comfort zone! I have just been out learning my dressage test - my coach has told me I'm doing Club 2 but I'm hoping I will do Club 3 SJ and XC! Paco was very good learning the test but I'm going to give him a bit of a shock after he behaved so badly at my last dressage outing: he's getting the full bit 'n' spurs experience. If he's good I'll put him back in the Dr Cooks for the jumping. It's a nice course we're going to, soft and sandy. I've done a TREC there and I remember a humungous contre haut - as we steamed upwards towards it it seemed higher than my head due to the uphill ground. (I doubt it was really!) I felt Paco begin the brakes so I yelled at him at the top of my voice as well as every normal aid going and he rallied and leapt up it. I am going to remember that positive feeling on my part and take it with me on Tuesday. As I said: my brave pants are washed and ready!!!!
