A little video from a week or so ago.

C is on Chompy and Abi on Roly. She still needs someone on the ground as she can occasionally get bounced out of the saddle in trot and if she looses a stirrup finds them hard to get back again. Reins are somewhat superfluous too at the moment.

But for 2.5 she isnt doing badly.

We usually play Simon Says as we hack out getting her to touch her head, do aeroplane wings touch her ears (hers and Roly's) and so on also we sing a LOT of nursery rhymes, she particularly likes trotting to "Horsey Horsey"

Roly sure beats a push chair

And isn't Chompy good? Have you noticed how kids have such supple joints that their feet naturally point forwards, they don't have the 'duck feet' that we can acquire in later life?

Its lovely that Abi has had access to ponies right from the word go. I would have loved to be riding my own pony at 2 1/2 years old

. Lets hope she doesnt lose interest and that you two can go to competitons and stuff together in years to come

Roly is 14 this year, very much been there, seen that got the T-shirt. Abi is her 3rd little girl.

I have to say I am very lucky the Roly came to me, she is everything I said I didnt want being a grey shetland mare, but is in fact everything I need being as safe as houses and the nicest natured shetland you will probably ever meet.

The fact that she is a rescue is a real testament to her character.
