Well this afternoon,S, the riding school manager, said she would ride AJ. S loves AJ and was gutted when I moved him to the other yard. We went in the school for 20 mins or so and then we decided to go "round the block". AJ and Tordi are used to going out together but AJ has been out of work and not been out much. They were very good and AJ stood quietly when S needed to attend to a call of nature! Unfortunately, later on, AJ decided that he needed to canter and on the bottom track and shot forwards! I did my best to hold Tordi but sadly I lost the battle. The track is quite muddy at the moment with a number of puddles which sadly Mr T doesn't appreciate so while trying to follow AJ at speed he suddenly jumped a puddle, shot to the right almost depositing me in a tree, shot to the left while jumping yet another puddle and then proceeded to speed up! I'm afraid my position and language left something to be desired . S managed to contain AJ and we made it home unscathed. AJ loved it and thoroughly enjoyed himself; I just wish I had the b***s to ride him.

Well sat naughty T! You can ride AJ really well. If it was me I would pay for some lessons on him instead of paying anyone to ride him. Enjoy your gorgeous boy!

Well sat, sidewinding ponies are interesting to sit on, I've lost count of the times I've seen clean air between me and the ground as Brave shoots sideways at things and wonder how on earth I stay on.
Its a good idea of Sol's to pay for some lessons on AJ

Well sat, naughty Tordi! Good idea about the lessons with Aj...as a step further, as i know you ride him in the school, could you have your lesson (or just find a good friend to help you either on foot or mounted) and start to hack him out to try and build confidence between you? You don't have to go out of a walk afterall if your not happy and no harm in getting off and leading if you get nervous? I'm sure you hacked him out when you were at mallard?

Over the years I've had loads of lessons on AJ and I just have to accept that he scares the living daylights out of me! I'm happy to ride him in the school but the thought of hacking on the roads leaves me in a cold sweat. I'm afraid that that I'm never happily going to hack him as when someone else hacks him with me and Tordi I'm a nervous wreck. I need to let S + E ride him out, keep him fit and I will continue to enjoy riding him in the school; it really isn't worth the stress and I do have another lovely horse to hack out on who doesn't generally scare me!

Well sat!!! Cheeky Tordi, next time you'll have to go faster so he can't see the puddles
