Me and the little Arab have been out a lovely autumn hack this morning there is nothing that makes me feel more alive than a flat out gallop across a huge stubble field, wind in your face, tears streaming across your cheeks. Fire is such an old hat we walk/trot/canter out across the field and as we go he always has his head tilted to the right just waiting for the sign....then we stop turn and go like lightening down the field. I just hold the neck strap as we turn as it's a kind of flying leap into gallop. The last few years he's felt like he was slowing up, but this year he feels the best he's ever felt I think. I think he's enjoying being the main ridden neddie again. I'm hoping to take him to do a couple of clear rounds at a hunter trial in a couple weeks. I love autumn.

Sounds perfect!!! Can't wait until I'm back in the saddle again (when I have at least one functioning knee) as you are right, autumn is the best time!

I like autumn the best, its a great British season, especially if its a fine one, not too much rain but enough to keep the ground just right and cool enough to keep the flies at bay. Im so glad having the baby hasnt appeared to have dented your confidence FL. You go girl!

Ah, that sounds great That feel of power from a TB / Arab leaping into a gallop is amazing - I love my Spanish horses but it's never quite the same!!

It'll sound strange but I feel like prehanacy has improved my relationship with Fire. He looked after me so well, there was a couple o times when really he should have been freaking out and going spare but it was like he knew I needed to be looked after so controlled himself...I only wish o felt the same way about Trav ....
