Since my disastrous XC lesson swiftly followed by Brave's abscess I had subconsciously been avoiding jumping, but I decided to get over it and last week tried to jump some of my XC fences in the field, which wasnt great, had napping, bunny hopping and more run outs than I can count.
So decided to go back a step and put up 2 fences in the school initially we had the same, run outs hesitant jumps and very unlike Brave he had a few poles down too even at 60cm, but then it seemed to click and I think he realised his foot didnt hurt any more, and I realised I was looking down down and between me looking up and him getting his confidence back we are back up to jumping 85cm again and him popping them with no problems even on dodgy strides as I re-adjust my position.
I think his foot must have been niggling for quite a time and the XC training on hard ground brought it out. Am a happy bunny today
