Yes, I have been around long enough to know my way around male parts but Dr Evil has thrown me a curved ball ....... A rare occasion arrived when we could catch him so we were giving him a good going over, including putting fly repellent over his parts. Now I know that the testes are normally in the scrotum and Dr Evil's is empty as are all geldings. BUT at the base of his willy there are two round things, one on each side, tucked up in the body but easily felt and the size of about a walnut each. None of the other three have anything at all like it. Any ideas?

Well that explains his evilness then! Sounds like a rig and his testes aren't properly descended! Dont get a mare!

Blimey it really does explain his behaviour! But I'm still not sure: I've googled chryptorchids and I'm still not sure but I will get Mr Wonderful Vet to have a feel around (Dr Evil will love that!) when he comes to vaccinate. Bizarrely, the info I've read said that rigs are often sterile but that the condition is genetic. Work that one out!!!!

Yes, we females will get the blame Im sure! Im not that well up on rigs but I did have Basil tested as he could be very naughty around other horses and drop his clanger at the slightest excuse, however it turned out to be a stress thing. I think they usually retain them higher up so you wouldnt normally be able to feel anything near his sheath but knowing Dr Evil he will be different!

Undoubtedly Yes, I too wondered about the fact I can feel them .... a friend was telling me the other day about her shettie having two 'lumps' so I'll see what she did about them .... one thing is for sure: Dr Evil is having nothing done at his age!!!!
