Finally got the chance to try out my new Thorowgood T4 high wither saddle. I was a bit anxious at first as when I first offered it up to Paco, it seemed too narrow (having measured him carefully) but when I was in it it settled down and then OMG it was heaven. I am very fussy about saddles but I loved it. I had thought that, after years riding without flaps in my rando saddle, the taquets (removeable blocks?) would get in my way as I felt they did on some of the other saddles I've tried, but in fact no, it was great. And a lovely deep comfy seat! The only experience I've had of synthetics have been a few really old Wintecs but this is something else! Love the 'sude' seat too, feels like you're velcro'd in! Love the leather girth straps (nice touch) and the no-stretch stirrup leathers are a revelation after the thick and slippery Wintec ones. So I did what any reasonable person would do and took advantage of the 'hose it down' technology and went up into the wood where I made (not impressed at all ) Paco canter through endless deep puddles left from the storm. YAY! Covered in orange mud now but don't have to faff around with cleaning! Brilliant!!!!!!!

I love my Thoroughgoods- they are great for the horses too and so easy to do! The pony one I have for Toudle has the awful synthetique girth straps which is not good but that is the only downside!

Cool :-) the only thing I found with the thorogood stirrup leathers is the coating on them comes off.

Might try one of these - want a cheap GP for jumping etc (it wont get used much) are they adjustable?

Yes Ceej, which is why I wanted one, so that it can be useful for a long time.
