Hi there. Im wanting some advice. im taking my 5 year old mare for covering today and as i have worked on a foaling yard i wasn't a active part in there feeding etc. would anyone be able to give me some advice please.

Sorry not much help from me as not had my own but when I worked on a yard years back, the in foal mares were just left out on good grass and bought in a couple of weeks prior to foaling. No different feeds etc

Feed as normal for the first 7 months, then change onto a good stud mix. Also lots of good grass.
I did that bar the stud mix as they weren't about then, it was 22 years ago. I upped her feed and made sure she had a good supplement and she bloomed and bth mare and foal did well.
If you are worried have a talk to the stud, they will give you lots of advice.
