Pearl is due to come home soon after being sent away for breaking and I need to get her an english saddle (currently using a western) for schooling. I have been doing some looking on the internet at different makes and was thinking about getting a WOW one as they seem to be adjustable so could change the shape etc when she develops more muscle tone etc. as well as not having loads of saddles that i can't use! Do you think this would be worth my while?

i would personally buy a synthetic saddle that can be changed and wait to get a wow saddle when she is fully developed as they are a lot of money

synthetics dont fit all horses- never sit right on mine, but might suit yours perfectly.
i'd get a professional out and try on loads of teir saddles, if you tell him what you're after he will bring lots and you can get the one that fits best and that suits you x

I'd agree with the synthetic route to save yourself money. No matter how adjustable a saddle is, it will never fit every horse out there, so it may be worth getting a synthetic saddle (both thorowgood and wintec are adjustable anyway) until she is fully developed and then splashing out on something more expensive as she is less likely to change shape. I had an adjustable wintec and this wouldn't fit my horse after he lost weight no matter what gullet I had - so I had a saddle fitter out and ended up with a perfectly fitting Albion (Which I think are fab saddles)
Don't think just because it says "fully adjustable" that it'll fit your horse perfectly - horses aren't that simple!

If you want a saddle that is worth your while then you will have to pay quite steeply... you get what you pay for in saddles. Dont forget to get the saddler out to make sure it fits ok!

Thanks for all your advice!! Turns out the YO where I keep Pearl has a load of old saddles one there may be one that fits her for the time being. The reason I don't just use the western one is that for schooling I would much prefer an english one as I want to dressage on her eventually as she moves fantasically (sp?) and I also have arthritis so to limit pressure on my joints I have to stick to low impact hence dressage rather then jumping.
