Well i have had a fantastic day today. As i have said in my other post i have cantered Charlie 3 times today while i was schooling him . I rode him with more of the attitude i used to ride with where i would just get on with it even if the horse was being awkward, i would so love to be the rider i once was. After schooling Charlie i took Sky out for a hack. I took her down a track i haven't used for ages (last autumn) and i have only took her down it once before. We went on our own just to make sure she will still hack without company. Got to the bottom of the track and had a few canters back up it. Then i pushed her on and we had our first very short gallop . I asked afterward for a short canter again and she gave me the best transition we has ever done from trot to canter . We also had a few very good extended trots while asking for canter before the gallop . So i have had a fabulous day with my horses today . Wish i could do it all again tommorrow but it is sports day at school so i don't think i will get the chance and then we are going to see my parents after school as i haven't been over for a few weeks, very naughty daughter that i am.

Wow, that's an epic day! Isn't it fantastic when it all goes well? And yes, Ithink we all wish we were the riders we once were How is it that age brings experience but removes confidence/derring do?

Good stuff! Isn't it a great feeling just being in the moment with them? Impossible to worry about the rest of life while concentrating on going really fast!
