I had a lovely day at Chatsworth on Saturday despite the wind and rain. We went on Saturday as a friend had got in to do the Novice event. This was the third year of trying and she was so excited to "get in". The first time she was ballotted out and last year it was rained off so third time lucky. Her horse is only 15hh and all the others were 16.2+ and she was competing against all the professional too. He had a fantastic dressage score of 35.2 and was in 10th place overnight. 12 faults in the SJ put her down the order but at least she got to go XC. Q was on fire and I was so proud of both of them. N really struggled at times to keep hold of him but he was flying and he even went straight into the first scary water. Sadly she had a stop at the huge Trackaner (sp) and also got some time faults but he got round and was still full of running. It was great to go to such a huge event and watch a friend do so well against Oli Townend and Ruth Edge etc etc. Well done N + Q

Awesome! It utterly changes things when you've got a pal in a posh event, doesn't it!

It was a great day however I found out today that 2 horses were PTS on Saturday, don't know which ones or which event they were competing in. So sad.
