I have recently put Rosie into a drop noseband and i cannot believe the difference! For the first time for a while i do now have brakes and in a snaffle too! Do you think its sitting in the right place?

Great news! I tried my PRE in one for a while hoping for miracles but they didn't emerge . Any idea why it's worked so well? I'd also say one hole lower would be ok, however if it's working as it is then I'd leave it. Probably better a hole too high than too low.

She just feels like I have some brakes now and she is listening to me a bit more than normal! Still a little way to go with company and cantering out but I was in a snaffle still so can't blame her there and other horse was slightly out of control.

Thats fab, it's the old fashioned cure of all ills isn't it, schooling in a snaffle and drop noseband? Nice to hear that 'simple' can still work in the correct circumstances.
ps i think rose looks amazing hogged, the drop really suits her face too

Great to hear that it's made such a difference I wouldn't put it any lower as it could interfere with breathing, as a rule you want them about the same level as where the cavesson noseband would be, where she has it looks just fine

Thank you haffy! that photo was of it just trimmed off with scissors since that i have properly hogged her and she does look great just needs to lose some weight now.
But yes you could try all the different gadgets and stronger bit for different circumstances but as you say simple is most of the time better.
