My horse is freeze marked on the hip and they have never put him down for that. Had it there as it was more visible. I feel more secure knowing he is marked and I think I read somewhere that judges are officially supposed not to include freeze marking in the judging criteria.

I know a few people that do ridden showing and they have had their freezemarks (well their horses') along the so it can't be seen so that might be better if you want it hidden when you do come to ride?

Does the micromark not have to be on the shoulder? Ive considered having Gem micromarked, but it upsets me at the thought that i'll have to baldmark her. Same goes with freezemarking as a general.

no can't get marked down for a freezemark as it can not be considered to be a blemish,
Chompy is Bald marked - still can heardly see it as his skin is pink, but it din't bother him when it was done.
