Brig's post about discovering Toudle loved bananas made me wonder what other more unsual/less common things they like....i know there was a similiar thread a while back but i couldn't find it... Mine love bananas and dates (check for stones as harry tried to eat one once, and dare i admit it, when he spat it out eventually i thought it was a tooth ) They also like satsumas or whatever the little easy peel oranges available are at that point in time. Dates are a great alternative to' sweetie's i've found and even come in sweetie bags!

Eddies pretty fussy with unusual stuff. Doesn't like greens or any veg leftovers. Doesn't like Will grudgingly eat a tiny bit of bread if I have a sanwich. She does like a chocolate digestive. But her favourites are the normal things, carrots, apples and polos.

Savs love orange chocolate, normal chocolate is fine and minty chocolate gets a minor reaction but orange chocolate is nummy, she doesn't get it very often, usually when the vet has had to do something horrible to her or when we move them as she can get a bit tetchy to handle and it just sweetens her up, the vet is fine with her having it in small doses. Rupes loves toast, bread is good but he practically salivates if he smells toast, we found out when mum made some toast but the bread was mouldy so she gave it to the chatterhappies and Bear was all over it, so now anytime he is worked he gets some toast for being a good boy. Sunshine loves sprout branches (thanks for the idea Sol!) though it might be more that he can swing them around his head and fling sprouts at people Daints is a monster for parsnips and its the only time she fights for food. Chip and Brax love beetroot and usually look like they've been painting themselves with it or the other ponies often causing panic thinking Savvys got a hole in her side after Chips been grooming her .

I feel quite guilty. Mine get lots of carrots - I get them discount - and sometimes veg peelings and apples ... but er, that's it. I will try bananas though. If ever Paco does anything to deserve treat

I tried Basil with bananas but he isn't interested, They love mints, I think most ex race Tbs get them from their owners when they visit them hence they seem to get a taste for them, but poor Sam didn't know what one was so he obviously didn't have an owner who cared enough when he was in training! I always vowed never to buy the manufacttured treats but I do now as polo mints have got really expensive so its cheaper to buy the treats!
