In training for the TREc now and yesterday I thought I'd go out for a bit longer, especially as the day was bright and warm, but a bit blowy.
Paco, howver, was in a real strop. He was sharp and spooky, being really silly. The first problem was when we came to a house which is being renovated. It is right next to the path and the massive hedge which is usually there (which P doesn't like anyway) has been torn down and there were machines buzzing about.
Cue real strop and as I felt him start to get light in front I just got off and led him past.
Second problem was beside a vineyard where a car was parked. It had a trailer on the back with an air compressor running the cllippers the workers were using to trim the vines. A real tantrun this time and I had to get off again.
So I tried to avoid it on the way back by taking another path which, blow me, turned back on itself and brought us right up next to the guys with the clippers. P just went banana shaped and we got past .... but the path petered out and we had to go back - not only pst the guys but also past the compressor!
I had taken my new camera but had my hands full with Mr Silly so the only pix I got were on the ground where, true to form, he continued being grumpy!
It was a shame as the almond blossom was beautiful, there were drifts of violets everywhere, studded with orchids, and the buzzards were crying overhead - I could have got a close up of our local one swooping over me if P had ben more co-operative!
