Well, it's been a rocky road with Racaille but yesterday I saw something I never thought to see. When we brought him back home to convalesce after his foot injury he was in pretty poor shape and looked like a rat. He'd lost all his muscle and had become very tricky to ride (again). The teenager has been amazing with him. Despite sometimes being a bit teenagery around the house she showed endless patience with him and followed the routine we had mapped out together to the letter (yes, I'm taking some credit here too!). She boringly walked him up and down the hills for weeks and then began to make him work bit by bit, not accepting any sh!t from him along the way. Yesterday we judged he was ready for a dressage lesson at the club. The YO nearly fell over when she saw him! She could not believe how he'd muscled up! And he worked beautifully, really trying hard and producing some great results. I was so proud of both of them. I don't know where the teenager finds the patience or why she loves him so absolutely but R is one lucky little horse as he'd be in a dog food tin by now otherwise!!!

Thats great news Rac; he's a credit to your patience and care. You have good reason to be proud of both of them xx

They do seem to respond to patience and routine! Horses are the same Seriously though he seems to be a tricky one person horse who has a wicked sense of humour!
