Took Brave off to do a couple of dressage tests on Sunday.
Did Prelim 1 first, I came out thinking he could have been more forward off the leg and that I was nagging him, judge obviously saw something different as we came second in the class with a score of 70.5%. And a comment that it was very quietly ridden....
Did Prelim 12 next and first part of the test went really well, but in the 2nd canter he broke early and I couldn't get him back into canter without me flapping! As 4 horses after me were also in the novice class I didnt think I stood a chance, you should have seen my face when they read out our names as the winners with a score of 68.5%. My jaw dropped. Aside from our broken canter which fortunately only affected 1 movement ( for which we scored a 5) our trot work scored 8's across the board and most other movements were 7's
very pleased with the ginger pony!!!

Well done Fi- thats really really good.Isnt it funny how we tend to be over critical on ourselves but sometimes its swanlike, underneath we are paddling like crazy but on top all is calm. Like you say with the one canter- it only effects one movement and the trick is not to let that mistake affect the rest of thetest- which clearly you did. didnt CarlH and Laura B both make canter mistakes in their Olympic tests?
