Livery on yard had farrier today and he has a little dog that has always been good round the chickens but sadly today she has decided to chase and get hold of one of the welsummers. She was very friendly and i got her her own bowl as we fed her alot in our feed room. The dog had gotten hold of her wing and she had no ligament left and went down to the bone and under her was just muscle. Horrible vet the farrier and i took her too though was almost laughing, doing one of those blow out your nose things (cant describe it) And was like theres her bone look and tapped it with his scissors! Sadly he didnt think he could help her as there wasnt much skin to hold together and had her put to sleep after phoneing up the YO. She was a strong girl and all way through never gave up the fight and knew we were trying to help her and stayed still once caught. At vets though was holding her and stroking her and she was closeing her eyes. Rest in piece marmite be with your sisters.

I know ot os very sad. Wasn't my chicken but had become attached because as soon as she saw me she would follow me to the feed room and have some corn although she was a biscuit lover =) she used to even wait for my friend at the end of the drive. Well hopefully her eggs hatch and we have some baby marmites running around =)
